• What makes BetaTesting unique?

  1. Better participants. We provide recruiting with a high quality audience of real-world people (consumers & professionals). Our amazing tester panel are happy to engage in time-consuming and complex testing processes with focus, patience, and real insightful thought.

  2. We make impossible tests possible. We make it easy to run tests and research over any duration (even spanning weeks) at any scale (even 100's of testers) with minimal setup and no technical integrations. Our tests are designed to provide true insights into real-world user experiences.

  3. We focus on beta testing Products that are not yet live (and let's face it, even production products) have a lot of bugs. Let's not pretend that they don't exist. A key part of the user experience for your product is the stability and performance. For that reason, every UX focused test that we run ALSO includes formal bug reporting, so you can resolve bugs and launch winning products.

• What is a credit?

  Most simple tests start at 1 credit per tester. Longer tests cost more, and niche targeting (business professionals or very narrow audiences) costs more.

  Packages and subscriptions with more credits have volume discounts built-in, so you'll pay less per tester.

• Do credits roll-over or expire?

  For Subscriptions, you'll get more credits each month (or year). Unused credits roll-over each period, and never expire as long as you have an active subscription. Upon cancellation, your credits will expire after 1 month.

  For Project-based packages (one-time credit package purchases), credits do not expire.

• Are tester incentives included in the pricing?

  Yes, we provide fair incentives to testers, and they are included in the credit pricing and there are no additional per-tester costs for you.

  We provide much higher incentives than many other research platforms because we care about quality feedback and quality participants.

  On average, our participants earn $10-$15 for 30 minutes or $15-$25 for 1 hour for unmoderated consumer focused tests, and 2X that for tests targeting business professionals. For moderated user interviews, our testers average $50 for a 30-minute interview (consumer) up to $150+ for a 60-minute interview for business professionals. This is in contrast to other research platforms that think $1.50-$2.00 for a 10-minute test is actually enough to recruit quality participants (hint: your target audience isn't wasting their time to participate in tests like that).

• Which plan should I choose?

  We recommend a Subscription plan so you can continue to iterate and improve your product. If you have a specific one-time project in mind (or just a few tests), then use the Project plan to buy a package of credits.

  For larger companies that want to build a robust beta program (including branding, platform customizations, inviting your own employees and users, etc), get in touch to learn about our Enterprise plan.

• How can I be sure BetaTesting can recruit my target audience?

  We have a large panel of global participants, with about half in the US. We also have access to partner networks with 4M more participants for custom recruiting needs (Professional plan). We have one of the most advanced targeting systems anywhere with hundreds of available targeting criteria, so you can easily recruit most target audience segments within hours or days. When defining your targeting requirements in our tool, we provide estimates on the number of participants available that meet your criteria and may be interested in your test.

  The best way to see if we can successfully recruit your audience is to launch a test. You can get started with our per-Project credit packages. For any test, you have the option to manually review and approve applicants if needed, to ensure they meet your criteria. Also, you only pay for testers at the end of the test process, after reviewing results, with no payments up-front. So, there's no risk to Get Started!

  If you have a niche audience that likely requires higher incentives than normal, get in touch and we can add the "Custom Incentives" feature with your Subscription plan. With this plan, you can offer custom incentives, so you could offer a higher reward for participation which should help with recruiting.

• Do you guarantee quality results?

  Yes! You only pay for participants that finish your test with quality feedback. At the end of the test, you have the opportunity to manually review and approve each tester. We only charge your card at the end of the test, based on the number of testers that successfully finish, so there's no risk.

• Are there any additional service fees?

  Nope! However, if you have a subscription with our "custom incentives" feature (which allows you to customize the incentive you offer to each tester), there is typically a 4% payment fee on top of the incentive costs.

• When do we pay?

  We charge your credit card when you purchase a Project-based credit package or start a subscription.

  In any test you run, you have the opportunity to review and approve testers for completion and reject those that don't provide quality testing/feedback. We only deduct credits for testers that finish with quality participation.

  If your package costs > 5K, we can provide you with an Invoice to pay via ACH/Bank Transfer/Check.

• Can we cancel anytime?

  Yes, you can cancel anytime, although we do not provide refunds on amounts already paid. For Subscriptions, your credits expire 30 days after plan cancellation. However, you can downgrade to the lowest subscription level to hang onto your credits.

• Can you send an invoice?

  For large invoices we can bill by invoice rather than by credit card. With any plan, eceipts for your paid invoices (for example, for subscription fees or incentive costs) are always available at any time through our platform.

• Who are the participants?

  Our community is made of 450,000+ real world consumers and professionals from all over the world. More than 50% are from the United States, with other large populations in Canada, UK, Australia, Europe, and throughout the rest of the world.

  The vast majority of our audience have signed up organically through referrals from friends and colleagues. Most users are excited about the idea of playing a small role in helping to improve and build the best new products of tomorrow. They span every demographic, lifestyle, and interest group, and we provide a wide variety of targeting criteria so you can reach your target audience.

• How do you ensure participants are high quality?

  We built BetaTesting to raise the bar for tester and feedback quality. Our platform is designed with quality in mind from start to finish.

  We maintain a high quality pool of participants by constantly vetting and rating users based on their participation. This includes AI analysis of feedback and automated scoring per-tester, in addition to manual ratings from our customers and customer success team.

  During the recruiting phase, we don't immediately post your test publicly so the first person that clicks can join. Instead, we have a proprietary invite process that sends private invites to quality participants that best match your target audience. This allows us to better control quality and ensure the best users get access to participate in your test.
